Cookie Policy

Last updated April 27, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how RaiseAppraisal.com (Malama Funding LLC) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit, such as your login state and preferences.

Similar technologies we use include:

  • Local storage and session storage — browser-side data stores
  • Server-side conversion APIs — server-to-server data transmission (no cookies set)
  • Web beacons / pixels — tracking elements embedded in pages or emails

Cookies We Use

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies (Always On — No Consent Required)

These are required for the Service to function. Disabling them will break core features.

CookiePurposeDuration
session_idKeeps you logged inSession
csrf_tokenPrevents cross-site request forgery attacksSession
subscription_stateCaches subscription status to avoid extra database calls1 hour
Stripe checkout cookiesRequired for payment processing during checkoutSession

2. Analytics Cookies (Disclosed; opt-out available)

These help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics 4Anonymized website usage analytics. IP address anonymization is enabled.Up to 2 years
ph_* (or posthog_*)PostHogProduct analytics — tracks feature usage and user flowsUp to 1 year

3. Conversion Tracking (Server-Side, No Browser Cookies)

We use server-side integrations (not browser cookies) to track conversions:

IntegrationPurpose
Stripe Conversion TrackingReports successful subscriptions back to Stripe analytics — server-to-server, no client-side cookie
Meta Conversions API (server-side, Limited Data Use mode)Reports conversion events back to Meta for ad attribution. Configured in Meta's “Limited Data Use” mode, which restricts how Meta can use the data. No browser-side Meta Pixel runs on our site.

4. What We Do NOT Use

  • No cross-site behavioral advertising cookies
  • No third-party retargeting pixels (no client-side Meta Pixel, no Twitter/X Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag)
  • No fingerprinting techniques
  • No data broker integrations

Why We're Conservative About Tracking

We operate in the mortgage and appraisal industry, where customer data is sensitive and regulated. We've intentionally avoided the typical SaaS marketing-tech stack of behavioral retargeting cookies because:

  1. It creates conflict with our “we don't sell or share your data for advertising” commitment
  2. It increases compliance burden under California CPRA and similar laws
  3. It often doesn't materially improve conversion in B2B SaaS

Your Choices

Browser Controls

Most browsers let you:

  • See what cookies are stored
  • Delete cookies
  • Block cookies from specific sites
  • Block all cookies (will break login/checkout)

Browser-specific instructions:

Opting Out of Analytics

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal (most modern privacy-focused browsers do, automatically), we treat it as an opt-out request for analytics tracking.

Do Not Track (DNT)

Most browsers have a “Do Not Track” setting that signals websites you don't want to be tracked. There is currently no industry consensus on how to interpret DNT signals, but we honor GPC (above) which is the modern equivalent.

Email Tracking

Our transactional emails (subscription confirmations, renewal reminders, dunning notices) include open-tracking pixels for delivery confirmation and security purposes. Marketing emails (which require your double opt-in to receive) include open and click tracking. You can disable image loading in your email client to block open tracking.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie notice on our website.
